#2 Most Diverse Suburb in North Carolina (Niche, 2017)
You don’t have to leave Zebulon to find something fun to do. With Five County Stadium located just a few miles from the center of town, residents can root for the home team (the Carolina Mudcats), attend special dinners at Cattails Restaurant, and watch dazzling Fourth of July fireworks displays from one of the the best locations in the Triangle.
There’s nothing quite like a local shop or restaurant, and Zebulon has plenty. Residents can enjoy a home-cooked meal from McLean’s Ole Time Cafe, a landmark since 1956, or fast food favorites from Hilbillies. The town’s Farm Fresh Market, which is open on Saturdays between April and October, is a great place to meet your neighbors and buy fresh local produce.
When you drive into Zebulon along Arendell Avenue, you'll be greeted by two things: First, the entrance to the GlaxoSmithKline plant, appropriately called Apothecary Drive, and second, the little sign that says "Welcome to Zebulon: The Town of Friendly People." Zebulon is a charming rural town located 20 miles east of Downtown Raleigh along US-264. Surrounding the community are working farms, forests, and brand new neighborhoods under construction. Neighbors get to know each other well, and the community is tightly knit. Like the sign says, Zebulon is truly home to friendly folks.
